Logo & name for a real estate-related investment firm The firm is new & has just started making & selling maps nationally for use by real estate investors, but the company also wants branding that will allow them to get into other investment areas over time without their name hindering that. We discussed establishing a company name based on the maps that are the current product vs a more open company name that would still be appropriate for future pursuits. The target client is both individual investors & larger institutional investors, so a wide ranging group. The name Archurian is a spin on one of the founders' names. The pyramid is intended to symbolize stability, has a arrow positively pointing up, is sharp/crisp, and of course green = money. The divided pyramid is meant to look like building blocks, or might be taken as pieces of a puzzle that fit together. Also, "Archurian" sounds like 'archer', & the arrow might be taken as the tip of a bow-&-arrow. Is this too generic? Does the pyramid say "pyramid scheme" to you?? Does it look approachable enough by the "little guy" while also sophisticated enough for the "big guy"? Thank you for your thoughts ...

The "pyramid" with inverted triangle doesn't say pyramid scheme to me, but it may say something more along the lines of "secret society" to some... My problem with the name is that it's not immediately obvious how to pronounce it. Is the 'ch' soft or hard? The answer doesn't matter. I always steer clear of such potential ?-generation when naming something.

It is rather generic, and just not all that interesting. It kinda makes me think of AOL's logo, and also the eye of providence in the pyramid on the dollar bill. The name itself is kinda confusing. Why is it called Investments if it sells maps? They don't want something that describes more clearly what they do? Investments makes one think of money and stock markets, not maps. Though, a pyramid could work for a map company - though that might be even more generic. An arrow pointing north seems rather obvious for a map company. Have you done any sketching or other brainstorming?

While the triforce possess many mysterious powers, appealing to the "big guy" isn't one of them. Unless that big guy wishes to use it's power for evil.

I was referring to the OP being an engineer, unfortunately not the train driving kind. From previous threads I thought that was their profession, but now I'm confused.

Wow, my flair for the obvious has never looked so unidirectional.

Yes, I do engineering. Unfortunately trains have not yet been involved in any of my projects.
